Our Archbishop, John Wilson, has encouraged all schools within the Archdiocese to form families of Catholic schools in Catholic Academy Trusts (CATs.)
In our area, our Catholic school Headteachers and Governors have been meeting for some time now to discuss the future of our schools as academies and we have formed the Sancta Familia Catholic Academy Trust. (Sancta Familia is Latin for Holy Family - as depicted in the logo on the left.) The Archbishop has appointed a Board of Directors and has confirmed that the CAT will be formed from schools in the Sutton, Croydon, Merton and Lambeth area.
The first six schools will enter the Trust on 1 January 2025, the Department for Education have asked for the Trust to grow gradually with small groups of schools over time. St Cecilia's is consulting with stakeholders on our application to join the Trust in the second phase of schools.
We are consulting with local stakeholders on our change of status from voluntary-aided to academy status. This is not the formal TUPE (Transfer Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations 2006 consultation that we will have with our employees, which will come later once we have completed our local stakeholder consultation.
You can see some documentation below including a frequently asked questions document.
If you would like to, you can make your comments known to us through this online form.
Please make sure to share your comments before Friday 13th December, when the consultation closes.
We had a stakeholder meeting for parents with the Chair of the Governing Body and myself on Tuesday 3rd December.
There is a recording of the meeting here, it's not the best!
Our meeting begins at around 2 minutes.
Sadly the powerpoint didn't show, it has been added to the documents below as Stakeholder Meeting.pdf.
Please see documents relating to the change of school status below
