Governance
The work of the Governing Body
All schools have a governing body comprising of different types of governors, for example parent-governors, staff governors etc. In addition to these categories, governing bodies in Catholic schools also include Foundation Governors, these Foundation Governors will always form a majority.
The main role of a governing body is to work with the Sancta Familia Catholic Academy Trust, ensuring that the Catholic vision and character of the school is upheld, holding the Head teacher and leadership team to account and overseeing the financial performance of the school.
The Governing Body is central to the realisation of our mission; through its responsibility in determining and overseeing the strategic vision for our school.
Working in partnership with the Headteacher, the Governing Body strives for continuous improvement in the school's provision set within our Catholic faith.
All Governors are guided by Canon Law in their efforts and to operate according to the following principles (Nolan principles)
