Wednesday 16 July 2025 Year 3&4 Borough Sports So close to the end of term, but we still had one event to go. As this event was cancelled last year, it was the first time any of the children had taken part. A bit of a change to Sports Day as they were running on grass but this didn't cause our team any problems. The children ran superbly throughout the whole afternoon and the encouragement between them all was so lovely to see. As it was a two heat event we had to wait for the final results to hear how we had done…it was worth waiting for!!Year 3 Sprint 3rd 🥉Year 4 Sprint 2nd 🥈 & 1st 🥇Year 3 mixed relay 3rd 🥉Year 4 mixed relay 2nd 🥈Year 3 Girl's relay 2nd 🥈Year 4 Girl's relay 3rd 🥉Year 4 Boy's relay 1st 🥇 🏆This is a fantastic set of results and a lovely collection of medals.Once the points from all the races were added together, we waited to hear where we had come overall.A huge well done to the whole team as we got 2nd place and were presente

Wednesday 9 July 2025 Pilgrims of Hope Cathedral Mass Today, the Chaplaincy team joined with other local primary and secondary Catholic schools for an end of year celebration around the theme of 'Pilgrims of Hope'. They created story sticks based on Bible stories, were inspired by nature to create pieces of art, and learnt a new song. We then went on a pilgrimage from Wimbledon College to the Sacred Heart church and back to the chapel, where we had a liturgy to end the day. It was a lovely day of reflection for the children.

Monday 7 July 2025 Swim Gala Success! On Friday evening, a team of 16 children from Years 4-6 took part in the Sutton School's Swimming Gala. Having won it last year, they knew the pressure was on to try to retain the trophy. We could not be prouder of how hard the children swam and the team spirit among them all. Well done to all the children for their achievements on the night. We finished the night with5 bronze medals, 3 silver medals and 6 gold medals. Additionally, a 1st place trophy was awarded to Leo, Ryan and Momo for the Boys Open Medley relay and to Madeleine, Effie, Emilia and Olivia for the Girls Open Freestyle Relay.Whilst this is a magnificent haul of medals, another school were doing equally well so we knew it could go either way.Final results we were placed second for the Boy's team overall, missing out by only 3 points. However, the Girl's team achieved 1st place and another trophy. Once all the points were added together we managed to secure back to back victories and won by 5 points!! This is an amazing a

Monday 19 May 2025 Wondermaths This morning, 5 children set off to take part in the heats of a London wide ‘Wondermaths’ competition. ‘Wondermaths’ involves a series of maths based puzzles, problems, and games. 🧩Over the past few months, our team has been practising the games weekly, and today was the day to put our skills to the test against 7 other local schools. After 4 brain-busting rounds, working as a team and also going head-to-head against competitors from other schools, it was time for the results. With the winning team being awarded the coveted invite to the grand final in July, tension began to build. After a dramatic drum roll, the winning team was… St Cecilia’s! 🥳This means we have made it to the grand final, as part of the top 8 schools in London! A huge well done to the team, including all who have been taking part during our lunch time sessions. Let’s keep it up and see how we get on in July!💪

Friday 9 May 2025 Borough Cup v St Dunstan's This afternoon was the quarter-final match in this cup. The girls were strong and determined from the start and just did not stop. By half time, unfortunately, we were 3-0 down but they did not let their heads drop and stayed focused.Throughout the game, Niamh made some outstanding saves and without her the scoreline could have been very different. With 5 minutes to go, Paisley was able to score from a penalty and this gave us a chance to get the much needed goals. Sadly, we just couldn’t get past their strong defence and the game ended 3-1 to them. That match concludes the girls’ season and what a season it has been. It has been great to have a girls’ team back at the school and watch how they have progressed. For the Year 6 girls, I wish you luck in your sporting ventures at your next schools. For Year 5, I look forward to next season where I’m sure you will continue to grow.Thank you to the parents for your support with getting the children to

Both the keepers made some great saves throughout the match and it could have gone either way.Thankfully, Matilda was able to find the back of the net and save us from extra time and penalties.Onto the next round you go girls. Friday 22 November 2024 Trust Chaplaincy Day Yesterday, our school Chaplaincy Team went to the Sacred Heart Parish Hall to meet ten other faith teams from local primary and secondary Catholic schools across the Sancta Familia Trust area. Each school presented information about their school saint and we spent time learning about the lives of the saints and thinking about what inspires us about them. We played some games, got to meet and chat other children and then joined together for a shared liturgy. The children had a great time and were excellent ambassadors for St. Cecilia's. We hope this is the start of many more opportunities like this where we can come together with other schools.

Friday 15 November 2024 Netball v Cheam Common Today our teams faced Cheam Common for their second match. Both games were tough and Cheam Common got ahead fairly quickly. When your behind in a match it's very easy to give up and I'm proud to say that I saw the complete opposite from our players today. They gave it their all right up until the final whistle. The score lines don't reflect the effort, hardwork and team spirit they showed so we won't worry about them. On to the next game boys and girls.

Tuesday 12 November 2024 Football Match v St Elphege's From the start of the match, it was clear that this was going to be a tough match. Our defence worked tirelessly throughout the first half to help to prevent them from scoring, although there were a few near misses. Shane was able to find the back of the net first and the first half finished 1-0.It was that kind of match where I voiced that we needed 3 or 4 more goals to be safe, which is just what the second half provided. Daniel scored another hat trick, including an outstanding goal from a free kick. Shane scored our final goal in the last minutes of the game. The game finished 5-0 and was another superb performance from the whole team. Well done boys, onto the next round you go!

Thursday 24 October 2024 Y6 Netball Team Today was the first match for our netball team. They approached it with a mixture of nerves and excitement. Their faces in the photo show how proud they were to be representing our school. The first game was quick paced with quite a few goals scored. It ended 5 - 3 to Nonsuch. Although the team lost they played until the end and didn't give up.The second game needed our goal defence and goal keepers to work incredibly hard to keep the opposition from scoring. The whole team did brilliantly however, the game ended 2-0 to Nonsuch.Although we had defeats in both matches the children played so well for their first ever competitive game. I'm looking forward to the next match already.

Thursday 17 October 2024 Girls Football v Dorchester Just a few days after their first match, the girls had their next match against our local neighbours. This match was on grass, which was a new challenge for some of the team. The game was very evenly matched with opportunities for both sides. However, it was Dorchester that found that first goal. This goal made the girls even more determined and their efforts to get the equaliser continued. With about 3 minutes left of the second half it was Elizabeth who secured the well deserved equaliser and the game finished 1-1.Just in these two games the girls have made significant progress and are taking on board all advice given. Well done girls - your first goal and first point. Keep it up!
