Internet Safety - Special Visitors
We welcomed Mr Paul Scully MP, and the Google Legends Team!
Mr Scully is currently Parliamentary Under-Secretary (Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport).
The children in KS2 were so excited to have Ellie and Daniel from Google in school today to relaunch our ‘Google Legends’ online safety scheme. They were reminded of the five pillars - be kind, be secure, be alert, be sharp and be brave! The children were really enthusiastic throughout the assembly and Ellie and Daniel were blown away by the children’s knowledge.
Our local MP, Paul Scully (Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport) wanted to visit one school in the borough to see first hand how children are learning to be safe online. St Cecilia’s was very lucky to be chosen to welcome Mr Scully this afternoon. He talked to the children about the importance of online safety and even joined in with the challenge.
After the assembly our Digital Leaders from Year 6 met with Mr Scully, when he awarded them with our school certificate. Well done to all the children, as our visitors from Google and Parliament commented on their excellent behaviour, enthusiasm and good manners.
