Year 5 Sutton & Cheam Cup semi-final v Dorchester

A big game for the boys tonight and only their second one playing together as a school team.

It was a lively start to the game and Filip was quick to score our first goal. Opportunities for both teams continued and it was Filip again who found the back of the net to take us to a more comfortable 2-0. Sadly, this didn’t last long as Dorchester were awarded a penalty which finished the first half at 2-1.

The second half continued with chances for both teams and we badly wanted that third goal to feel a bit more comfortable. Filip went for his hat trick, which was disallowed for offside.

The minutes didn’t seem to be going down quick enough and you could feel the tension from both teams. With two minutes to go, Jack scored an almighty goal from just past the half way line that secured us the victory and a place in the final!!!
Outstanding play boys and fingers crossed that the trophy is coming home!!
