Orchestra
All instrumental pupils, whether they learn an instrument in school or out of school, are encouraged to join the School Orchestra. Weekly Orchestra rehearsals take place during the lunch break and pupils have the opportunity to experience ensemble playing while learning to perform a variety of music that is tailored to their individual abilities.
They have the opportunity to perform during a school assembly, at a musical celebration such as ‘St. Cecilia’s Day’ and also at the annual school instrumental concert in the Summer term.
Choir
Singing is a wonderful experience through which you can develop self-confidence, build your concentration and memory retention, and develops your imagination. It's also hugely enjoyable!
St. Cecilia’s has a School Choir which rehearses twice a week during the lunch break. Pupils in Years 4 to 6 are encouraged to participate in the Choir. Every child is welcome to join and pupils learn to sing and perform a variety of songs at various school events such as the Carol Concert, School Fair, First Holy Communion Mass, special assemblies, and the Annual Summer Concert.
Recorder Club
A beginner’s Recorder Class is offered to pupils in Year 4. This takes place once a week during the lunch hour. Once pupils have mastered the basics, they are encouraged to join the orchestra to experience ensemble playing and to improve their playing skills.
