Keeping you informed

We’re committed to keeping you informed about your child's progress throughout the academic year. Our goal is to provide clear and relevant assessment information at key points, so you always know how your child is doing.

Ongoing Assessments

We assess children regularly during the teaching week, with some of these assessments recorded in our management system, Arbor. These are called Point in Time Assessments, which help us track the small steps in learning. Together, they give us a clear picture of whether your child is meeting the standards set out in the National Curriculum.

You can easily view your child’s assessment summaries on report cards, which are sent home and also available through the Arbor App and Parent Portal.

Early Years (Nursery & Reception)

For parents of children in Nursery and Reception, we provide assessment reports twice a year—in the Autumn and Summer terms.

Nursery parents receive a summary at Christmas and a fuller report in June.

Reception parents receive a baseline report in the Autumn and an EYFS Profile report in the Summer, along with a detailed written report from the class teachers in June.

Years 1-6

For children in Years 1-6, we send out a Termly Data Report in PDF format, covering Reading, Writing, and Maths.

In December and June, you will receive a more detailed data summary of all National Curriculum subjects, also in PDF format. The June report is particularly comprehensive, including teacher comments for a fuller picture of your child’s progress.

Attendance Reports

We also provide regular attendance reports, and you can always access full attendance details through the Arbor App and Parent Portal.

Guardian Consultations

In the Autumn and Spring terms, we offer Guardian Consultations—opportunities to meet with your child’s class teacher and discuss their progress. These meetings are scheduled after the termly report has been published on the Arbor App, so you can come prepared with the latest information.

Booking a meeting is simple—just visit the Arbor App to schedule your Guardian Consultation.

Celebrating Learning

Throughout the year, we also invite you to attend our "Celebration of Learning" events, where you can see your child’s work and celebrate their achievements with us.

At St. Cecilia's Catholic Primary School, we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children in all circumstances and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. To read more about our commitment to safeguarding please view our safeguarding policy.
