Supplementary Form Information
Parents and carers applying for places in the academic year 2023-2024 are asked to note the following statement in relation to the Mass Attendance oversubscription criterion set out in our admission arrangements:
On the advice of the Education Commission of the Archdiocese of Southwark, the Governing Body of St Cecilia's Primary School has agreed with the following statement in order to clarify how its faith-based oversubscription criteria will be interpreted as we come out of the pandemic. This statement has been shared widely with parishes by the Education Commission in order to ensure that determinations made by parish priests concerning the regular practice of the faith are being made on a consistent basis.
As of the 5th June 2022, Pentecost, the Bishops of England and Wales reinstated the obligation to attend Mass on Sundays and Holy Days. Parents applying for a place at St Cecilia's, under a faith based criteria, will need to complete a Supplementary Information Form. Evidence of practice will be measured by frequency of attendance at Mass as validated by either a priest or minister, as was the case prior to 18th March 2020. These arrangements apply to the admissions round for 2023 and subsequent rounds.
